Chalk it up to Success...

The Foe-Hammer
Written March 17, 1997

I feel the sand between my fingers
It is slowly slipping through.
At the top and the top ain't that high,
just so far to fall.
Sagging under my burden, I face the desert, my old Friend.
You have not changed since last we met, Old Man.

Only Silence answers me.
And He has nothing to say.

Closing myself to the dry harshness, I continue to creep.
Eyes flicking back and forth: sad, sick and scared, I wander.

Barren is the landscape and full is my heart.
With animalistic pre-human glee I leap the gorge
and come down on my feet.
Fighting for all that I am,
against an un-caring, un-wielding foe.
With every stroke of my mighty-strong Foe Hammer,
I draw upon non-existant reserves.
With all my ~RAGE~, I smash and crush,
But the Juggernaut moves on...unaffected
and I am cast down with a mere flick of its' tail.
My strength dwindles, my resistance slides away.
Left bare, I stand and look the Enemy in the Eye.

He is Apathy and the cure is not to be found.
