Parts Suppliers
Supplier Pages Info
by Name (A-I) - by Name (J-Z) - by Category - by Location - Suggest a Supplier

Introduction
Dealing with Suppliers - Disclaimers

These pages have a wealth of sources for Audi parts. Information about a supplier was gathered from their website, from telephone conversations with the supplier and, in many cases, from members of the quattro list who submitted information about their favorite parts suppliers.

The data is organized in the following ways:

  • Suppliers by Name
This is an alphabetic list of suppliers, including website and email links where available.
Opening a supplier website link will open a new browser window.
  • Suppliers by Category
This is a cross reference to the suppliers by type of service provided.
Note: New and used part suppliers usually offer products in most categories.
This page has a "more info" link that (with JavaScript enabled) opens a small window showing all additional information about a supplier.
  • Suppliers by Location
Just published (March, 2001) lists US and Canadian parts suppliers that have a "walk-in shop".  Suppliers are listed by State/Province within a geographic region. Latitude/Longitude coordinates are also provided.

The parts supplier files are maintained by an overworked (-ed.) volunteer.
You can submit a supplier to be added to the list.
For corrections, comments or suggestions about supplier information only, please email.

Dealing with Suppliers
Introduction (top)  Disclaimers

The fastest way to get accurate part prices and availability is to have the following information available when you contact a supplier:

  • Vehicle Information
These codes (on unmodified cars) can be found on various parts of your Audi.
    • The VIN is on the dash board or A-pillar, viewable from outside the car.
    • The build date (month/year) is on a sticker on the drivers side door jamb.
    • The engine code is stamped on the engine block.
    • The transmission code is stamped into the transmission case.

Repair manuals usually provide information about the location of engine and transmission codes and what combinations of these may be found in your Audi.

  • Original Equipment (OE) Part Numbers
No small task to find, but worth the effort. Audi OE part numbers are (generally) stamped or labeled on the part in a 9, sometimes 10 position format: xxx xxx xxx -or- xxx xxx xxx x. Most of the positions will be numbers, but letters also creep in too, especially in the 2nd and 10th positions.

When you can't find a part number, there are resources on the web that may help. The Parts Connection has online part catalogs by Audi model. All Audi dealer parts departments have current part numbers (no snickering, please!). Getting them to share the information with you is another matter.   A post to the audifans electronic mailing list can also result in getting OE part numbers - but we hope you exhaust other avenues before you come to us.

Why is this stuff is so important?

    • Car manufacturers have "running production changes" where part numbers may change within model year build cycles. Having your vehicle information helps to identify if your car was built before or after a running change.
    • Most parts suppliers are computerized and the fastest way they can give you a price and stock status is to enter a part number on their system. Parts people spend their entire day looking up parts and dealing with people that have a million questions before they buy a $10 part. They appreciate the time you save them when you "talk their language" - part numbers. It also gives them additional time to verify that the part information you gave them is correct for your application.

Note: some suppliers do provide a discount to Audifans.com list members - it never hurts to ask!
