These are the generic instructions for replacing a DOT H4666, H6545 or H4668 Sealed Beam with a Hella European upgrade, part number 71246 or 79566.

The top illustration is the pin arrangement at the back of the 71246 and the center illustration is the pin arrangement at the back of the H4666, H6545 or H4668 Sealed Beam units.
The bottom illustration is looking into the headlamp connector on the wiring harness in your vehicle. The color codes indicate how you want to connect the Hella adapter that came with each 71246 to that connector.
In order to install the Hella headlamp, the male connectors from the small Hella wiring adapter supplied with the lamp need to be removed from the plug. If you look on the inside of each flat male connector, youll see a small rectangular opening. If you slip a paper clip or small jewelers screwdriver into this opening, you can release the clip that holds the pin in the connector and slide it out the back of the connector. If you bought the lamps from Susquehanna MotorSports, weve already done this for you.
Now assemble the Hella 71246 by dropping the H4 bulb into place in the back of the lamp assemble. Be careful not to touch the glass of the bulb as that will seriously shorten the life of the bulb. Align the tabs on the bulb with the mount in the back of the lamp and fasten the spring clip over the bulb. Place the silicon rubber dust shield over the bulb pins and press firmly in place. Plug the assembled lamp into the female side of one of the adapters.
Now install the new lamp into the front of your vehicle and connect the loose wires from the adapter to your wiring harness plug as shown above. Tape the plug assembly well to prevent corrosion and to hold the pins in the connector.
Repeat the procedure for your other lamp and you are good to go!
If when you sell the vehicle you want to recover your investment is good lighting, simply reverse the procedure to install the original sealed beams.
