Windshield Sprayer Replacement
| Question: |
"When I pull the sprayer handle, spray shoots over the window, or doesn't come out at all." |
| Answer: |
"Well, let me take you through the easiest install on your car." |
| Level of Difficulty: |
Easy |
Intro:
First, order the stupid $2 parts from some far away
place, and then wait for aforementioned stupid parts to get there from
somewhere called "Deutschland". They'll come in a tiny envelope, with a
little # sticker on them. Ok, now we're in business.
Parts Needed:
- "Spray Jet" p/n 861 955 985 - qty. 2
- Diagonal cutters - those little sloping "pincer" looking cutting
devices
- A lubed finger
Fix: You'll be cutting off the little
windshield spray jets from below and sliding the new ones into place.
That's about it.
- Pop hood
- follow black or clear sprayer hose going from washer reservoir to
the "back" of the hood (near windshield)
- pull sprayer hose off of the little black tube that goes through the
hood
- chop & dice the hell out of the little black tube until the
whole unit falls off
- clean the hole with some sort of spray cleaner
- lube hole and hose with lubed finger
- slide new unit in at a sidewards angle, popping it into place
- using a needle, position sprayers at your windshield by sticking
them in the little hole and moving them around
- Test squirt
- Do a little dance
Easy, right?
Cautions:
- Do not stick lubed finger in eye or nose
